A fun-packed fall tradition going strong on its 45^th year, Scarecrows in the Village brings six weeks and 200 scarecrows to Peddler’s Village. Every day through October 27^th, visit the village to enjoy scarecrows made by Philly area residents and organizations display what inspires them – from characters to mascots, funny to scary, all scarecrows are standing for your ovation! Guests are invited to vote on their favorite scarecrow through October 14^th in a variety of categories, with prizes given out to the winners! Which will be your favorite?

According to the Japan Times, the goal of the move was to catch up with Chinese competitors who had taken a decisive lead in EVs while Japanese companies concentrated more on hybrid cars. Electric Cars are more computer than motor these days and software is a crucial and ever-changing part of the electric vehicle future.

With this alliance, the two automakers aim to outpace Chinese manufacturers in the Eastern market and beyond. Together their project focus could involve vehicle function software, wireless update software, charging infrastructure updates, supplementary goods, and battery development.

Partnership Timeline

Both Nissan and Honda are staying quiet about in-depth developments, but it’s safe to speculate that since the March announcement, the companies are now settling on the finer details of the agreement. With lower production costs due to the partnership, EV costs to rival Tesla and other aggressive upcoming competitors could translate into higher sales if the lower production costs also translate into lower ticket prices at the dealership.

Ultimately, this partnership is the direct symptom of a worldwide trend of traditional automakers joining to survive and thrive in the EV era. Nissan’s Commitment to Electric

Confirmed by Nissan’s VP for Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania regions, Nissan is reaffirming that electric is the way forward. Nissan put forward their plans toward revolutionizing more efficient electric vehicle batteries with stunning amounts of range last month, showing that the future is electric, and Nissan intends to lead the field.

While Nissan isn’t planning on developing new internal combustion engines (ICE) for the markets mentioned above, they do plan to develop the technologies of their new e-Power hybrid systems as a “stepping stone” to full electrification. This is likely due to the continuous development of charging infrastructure around the world. Many countries continue to catch up, but other markets have led the world in electric infrastructure updates.

These announcements may not come into effect immediately in the United States and other Western markets as there is still developing electric infrastructure, but Nissan’s efforts towards electrification worldwide seem to hint that this strategy will be coming to all markets sooner or later.

What This Means for ICE Gas Engines

Nissan intends to keep selling conventional gas and diesel internal combustion engine vehicles but without further advancements in their technology. Instead, the company aims to channel its efforts into enhancing hybrid and plug-in powertrains, prioritizing electric vehicles in its research and development endeavors.

The timeline for completely phasing out combustion engines hasn't been confirmed by Nissan yet. It's contingent upon regulatory requirements and market demands in different regions. However, Nissan's European branch has announced plans to exclusively offer electric vehicles by 2030, starting in September 2023. As for the United States, the specific timing remains uncertain—we'll need to wait and see.
